SHNCI Fellowship
The Sydney Head & Neck Cancer Institute offers a fellowship program for national and international doctors for a period of 12 months. Two fellowships are offered each year, one commencing in January and the other in July. This training program has been planned to provide fellows with skills in head and neck oncology. The fellows are involved in a full range of clinical activities of the Head and Neck Service at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and these duties may extend to activities elsewhere in the area as required.
These positions are under the supervision of Dr Jonathan Clark. The programme provides excellent surgical experience in head and neck surgery and reconstructive techniques. It also affords opportunities for research with a large clinical database and laboratory research facilities. Avid reading of the literature, presentations at the monthly journal club and discussion of patient care will increase the knowledge and understanding of the management of head and neck disease. Upon completion of the programme fellows will be proficient in head and neck surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy techniques, evaluation and management of non-surgical clinical problems and multi-disciplinary patient care.
How to apply
The Institute requires all applicants to complete the SHNCI Fellowship Application Form. A resume should also be attached with your application and a minimum of two references from professional senior colleagues with whom you have worked. Fellowship applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the Institute and should email to arrange a suitable time to visit.
Next available fellowships
Please note that the next available fellowships are January 2018 and January 2019. Successful applicants are advised approximately 9 months in advance of their appointment.
